When the needs for new technologies and online-services raised JP was the first one to launch the very first bilingual nationwide directory CompassX2 both available from computers and most cell phones simultaneously. It started in July 2002 as the American version of Japan’s biggest online directory service NTT “i Town Page”. It is nationwide and covers all 50 US states. Data is divided into 700 categories with more than 80,000 listings. From its mega-size database, users can conveniently search for businesses in both English and Japanese by keywords, types of business, phone numbers, and more. It also allows users to comment on restaurants and businesses as well as communicating with each other on bulletin boards. The directory listings feature useful tools such as “web directory ads”, “coupons”, “banner ads”, and “E-flyers”. |
